Friday night six racers showed up at Sick Puppy Raceway for another night of excitement. On a side note,One of our regulars Danny Eaton was absent. He's going into the hospital and will be missing for about at least four weeks. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and he's back tradin paint, and rubbin fenders soon!First up tonight were the Big-Block Vintage Modifieds. The voltage was set at nine(9)volts to tame the Death Star motors down a bit.The first couple of 2/12 minute heats took longer than usual. The drivers were getting used to the faster cars and running with the exposed wide tires. One of the more entertaining duels was between"Papa Mike" Johnson and Cliff. These two swapped positions back and forth for the entire 2 1/2 minute heat."Papa Mike's" gleaming black#12 32 Ford Coupe and Cliff's equally attractive white#8 36 Chevy Coupe.(It should be noted that All the cars in this class are real eyecatchers)!!With "Papa Mike" edging Cliff out at the end of the heat. The results were as follows: Dallas 144 laps,"Papa Mike" with 138, and Cliff with 135 laps .Next up were the Jalopies.A couple of drivers decided to sit this one out so only four drivers took the green flag. The race lacked the intensity of the previous event (I think the excitement of the Big Block race took a little wind out of all their sails).Taking the checkers at the end were: Rick 135 laps, "Papa Mike"131 laps, and Dallas 123 laps. This is the final race report for 2012.Here's wishing Everyone a healthy and safe New Year.Till next time,See Ya,Cliff.
