1 Results from Sick Puppy Raceway. 11-23-12 on Sat Nov 24, 2012 4:51 pm

Seven racers converged on Sick Puppy Raceway Friday night. The class of choice were the always popular Jalopies. One of our up-and-coming racers was getting the bugs out of his newest car a 1930 Model Ford Coupe so we prolonged practice to give him time to get used to his new car.(He struggled with the new car tonight, but,I have a feeling this won't last long.)All the racers were trying to find traction with the urethane tires being a harder compound and less contact surface than wide sponge tires it took a little while to get some heat into them. But once they did the racers could run side-by-side without sliding and rubbing tires as is the case in this class.Seven heats were run with a time of 2 1/2 minutes per heat. The drivers rotate through all four lanes with the winner of each heat decided by total laps completed in that heat.In the end Rick Isley(owner of Sick Puppy Raceway) was first with a total of 132 laps Second was Dallas Johnson with 127 laps(his car is a unique looking 1932 Ford open-top touring car. With a full driver figure that wore a bright red bandana to keep the bugs out of his teeth).Third was Cliff Mathewson with 126 laps.We called it a night after one race due to the fact that some of the racers had "honey do" errands Rolling Eyes ,etc.A good time was had by all.Until my next race report,See ya!!Cliff.
